Six of a family killed in property dispute
In a shocking incident, six persons of one family, including four children, were stabbed to death by a relative in Agra district, late on Tuesday night.
The incident took place in Achnera village and the murders came to light on Wednesday morning.
According to police sources, Satyavan Singh Jat ,35, his wife Pushpa and four children Aarti ,6, Mridula ,3, Gudiya ,2, and Kanahiya, 4, were found stabbed to death in their house.
Neighbors said that Satyavan Singh was having a serious dispute with his brother Gambhir Singh Jat, who used to stay with his brother’s family, over division of property.
SSP Sunil Bajpai told reporters that in 2005, both the brothers had murdered their mother over the same property dispute and had even gone to jail.
He further said that Gayatri, the sister of Satyavan and Gambhir, had come to Satyavan’s house on Tuesday with another relative Abhishek. Gayatri first mixed sleeping pills in their dinner and later helped Gambhir and Abhishek in stabbing all six to death.
The police have arrested Gambhir, Gayatri and Abhishek while they were trying to flee and the bodies have been sent for post mortem.
Since tension prevails in the village over the mass killings, additional forces have been deployed to prevent an untoward incident from taking place.
