Cameron and Obama bet on ‘best’ beer
US President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron had wagered their nation’s “be-st” beer and lager ahead of Saturday’s World Cup ma-tch between their two nations.
Mr Obama, who spoke to Mr Cameron on Saturday, suggested the wager, as per a summary of the conversation released by the White House. “The President noted that the historical record of previous World Cup matches between the US and England favours the US and the President wag-ered the best lager against the best beer in America on an American win over England.” Later, the match between the US and England ended in 1-1 tie. The White House did not specify what Mr Obama considers to be America’s best beer. Mr Obama drank a Bud Light at the White House last summer during the so-called “beer summit” which brought together a Harvard professor and police officer after an incident between them sparked row, the CNN reported.
This is the second time the two leaders have spoken since Mr Cameron came into office. According to the White House, Mr Obama and Mr Cameron “agreed to disagree on the desired outcome of the US-England World Cup soccer match.”
