Sampath murder: CBI officer threatened junior cop

The Central Bureau of Investigation has been caught with its hand in a cookie jar when a telephonic conversation in connection with the Sampath murder case, has came to light.

The CBI had recently claimed it had taken disciplinary action against two inspectors, S. Unnikrishnan and K.K. Rajan, by transferring them to Guwahati. But a recorded conversation has proved this wrong.

Rajan had recorded his conversation with CBI joint director Ashok Kumar, IPS, who is heard threatening the investigator to act according to his directions or face dire consequences.

Rajan submitted the transcriptions of the telephonic conversation which took place on January 7, 2011, before the Kochi bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal.

A close reading of the telephonic conversation details between Ashok Kumar and Rajan, in possession with this paper, shows that the IPS officer had used harsh words and even threatened that he would draw up major penalty proceedings against him.

This officer is having that attitude of threatening the subordinate officers. No wonder he did like that.
