Though Diwali falls on a moonless night (amavasya), it has the potential to become the brightest day of your life. The prayers said on this day are believed to have double effect as compared to normal days, and also doubled are the positive effects of every activity that you do on Diwali.
Hence, following Vastu Shastra principles while preparing for Diwali celebrations can bring in great results.
A key factor for best benefits of puja on Diwali is to ensure the puja room at home is in the north-east direction. While offering prayers, you should be facing northwards. The worst direction to have puja room at home is south-west. As per Vastu Shastra, if your puja room is in south-west, you will gain no benefit from your puja. Instead, your wealth might start draining out. You can get into serious financial troubles too.
Another important aspect that can negate positive effects of your prayers is the presence of red colour in your puja room. Red is believed to be auspicious, but its presence doesn’t let you gain full benefits, especially when it is located in north-east Vastu zone. Replace red with light yellow, light green or off-white colours in your prayer area. The use of red bulb too produces adverse results. So, if you are planning to put up those fancy lights in and around the puja room, avoid having red bulbs. Add green bulbs (in office) and yellow bulbs (at home) to attract positivity and prosperity in your building.
Tips to attract money on Diwali
While moving furniture and other things, don’t forget to do it in accordance with Vastu, as these small movements could turn your fortunes.
While moving or changing positions of your plants, shift your money plant to the north. Also, if the vase containing money plant is blue in colour, it will immediately start attracting money.
If you are buying artefacts and decorative items for the house, add a pair of galloping red horses in your shopping list. When placed in the
south, the horses provide a steady flow of money. They should be placed facing the north.
If your list of artefacts include a painting, buy one with a scene that has a lot of greenery in it. Place it on the wall in north zone of house.
Goddess Lakshmi’s picture should not be placed in south-west direction, as it will result in money loss. Place it in the west zone of your home to get her blessings.
If you are buying Lord Ganesha’s statue in copper (or already have one), place it in south-east zone of the house. It will help remove hurdles from your work.
