Girl raped, then killed in running Bihar train

Patna , April 2: In a gruesome crime in Bihar, a teenaged girl was allegedly gangraped inside a running train and then thrown off to die bleeding near the tracks after her throat was slit on Friday morning.

Pune: Woman is gangraped after taking lift in car

Mumbai , April 2: In an incident that has sent shockwaves across Pune, a 25-year-old woman was kidnapped on the pretext of giving her a lift and then gangraped by three persons in an open ground near a large infotech company complex on Thursday. Two persons were arrested, and produced in court on Friday.

Kolkata-class INS chennai launched

The third and last of the Kolkata-class warships, the INS Chennai, a 6,700-tonne destroyer 163 metres long and 16 metres wide, was launched using the pontoon-assisted method by Ms Elizabeth Antony, wife of defence minister A.K. Antony. India to fly own space shuttle in a year: Isro

 

Bengaluru , April 1: In a year’s time, India will fly an indigenous version of a space shuttle.
On its first flight, the rocket-powered craft, shaped like an aircraft, will climb 60 km into the earth’s atmosphere and glide back to earth. Over subsequent flights, the journey into outer space will be of longer duration and distances in order to test its reliability and capability to carry satellites into orbit.
