A father-son duo was robbed of `80 lakhs in outer Delhi while the family of a retired NCERT official was held hostage by armed robbers.
Ram Kumar Goyal, who runs an estate firm, and his son Kuldeep were going in a Toyota Corolla car when four assailants in a car intercepted them near Rohini (west) Metro Station at 9.30 pm on Thursday.

A day after the Trinamul Congress delegation met the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, to complain about the misuse of the Central forces by the Marxist government, the Union home ministry mounted pressure on West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee asking him to ensure that armed cadres which are active in parts of the state should be “immediately disarmed and demobilised”.
