CPM: Wrong for MPs to decide pay
The CPI(M) on Tuesday said it was not correct for members of Parliament to decide on their own salaries and demanded creation of a separate mechanism for the purpose. The CPI(M) said that it was against the “normal political morality” for MPs to themselves decide on their pay structure.

Personal law bill to be amended
The Rajya Sabha on Tuesday passed the Personal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2010, seeking amendments in the Guardians and Wards Act (GWA), 1890 and the Hindu Adoptions and Maintenance Act (HAMA) of 1956. The bill allows the mother along with the father to be appointed as a natural guardian and also aims at removing hurdles in the way of a married woman to adopt.
Madani held before he can surrender

Polluter must & will pay: Jairam
