Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh has been shifted to AIIMS from his cell in Tihar jail on Monday evening. The Tihar jail authorities confirmed that they have called a team of doctors to examine the health conditions of Mr Singh and the team referred him to AIIMS.

A local court on Thursday sought a report from the Tihar officials on the health condition of Amar Singh, who was sent to the jail on Tuesday, while hearing a bail plea of the Rajya Sabha MP for his alleged involvement in the 2008 cash-for-vote case.

Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh and two ex-BJP MPs, Mr Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mr Mahabir Singh Bhagora, were arrested at the national capital’s Tis Hazari Courts on Tuesday for alleged involvement in the cash-for-votes scam that had rocked Parliament in July 2008. The arrests came after the lower court turned down their bail pleas.
