Docs call off strike, normalcy returns

Normalcy has returned to government hospitals and primary health centres in Rajasthan after doctors called off their 11-day-old strike late on Saturday.

The stalemate between striking doctors and the Rajasthan government continued for the seventh day on Tuesday while the agitating doctors faced public ire in different parts of the state. The strike badly hit the medical and health services across the state and it claimed more than 64 lives. Chief minister Ashok Gehlot again made an appeal to the striking doctors to resume their work and cautioned them about the rise in public anger.

No end to Rajasthan medico stir

Health and medical services remained paralysed as the doctors’ strike entered its sixth day in Rajasthan on Monday. The state government invited the doctors for talks but also adopted a tough posture and termed the strike as illogical.
