The local administration in Bikaner is searching records of princely states to find details about the Japanese prisoners of war [POW] kept in Bikaner during World War II.

The deck has been cleared for the release of Pakistani virologist, Dr Khaleel Chishty, who has been serving a jail term in connection with a murder in Ajmer.

A local court in Alwar found five persons guilty of poaching the tiger in Sariska reserve and sentenced them to seven years’ imprisonment. The court has also imposed a fine of `1.30 lakh on each of them. This was the seventh case since year 2007 when the court sentenced the poachers under the Wild Life Act.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has mentioned the name of a senior BJP leader and former minister Rajendra Rathore in a chargesheet filed against suspects in the Dara Singh alias Dariya encounter case. The CBI described the incident in which Dariya was killed on October, 23, 2006 in Mansarovar area of Jaipur as “stage-managed.”

But he said it is too early to name a prime ministerial candidate as the party has various able leaders.
