Warehouse gutted in Strand Road fire
Kolkata ,Feb. 14: A devastating fire ungulfed a two-storeyed warehouse on Strand Road in Burrabazar early on Sunday. Goods and items worth several lakhs were damaged in the fire.
At around 2.15 am, the flames were first seen flashing out of the first-floor of the building. At least 30 fire engines were immediately rushed to douse the fire.
3 from city die in Pune blast
Kolkata ,Feb. 14: Three persons from Kolkata are among the nine who lost their lives in the German Bakery blast in Pune on Saturday evening. Siblings Ankik and Anandi Dhar along with one of their friends Shilpa Goenka were present at the eatery when the blast occurred on Saturday. A pall of gloom descended upon the Dhar family of BB-49, BD Block in Sector 1, Salt Lake, when the family received the news from the Pune police.

Bomb scare on SpiceJet flight
Kolkata ,Feb. 14: A bomb scare on-board a SpiceJet flight on Chennai-Kolkata-Bagdogra route put the Kolkata airport on high alert. The aircraft arrived at the Kolkata airport on Sunday and immediately it was brought into an isolation bay. All passengers and their luggage were checked. However, nothing suspicious was found.
