9 lakh forms submitted, says Yusuf

Delhi food and civil supplies minister Haroon Yusuf on Monday said that more than nine lakh households have submitted their forms for enrolment in the food security scheme in the capital. Refuting allegations by the BJP of applicants being fleeced, Mr Yusuf said that the government has already distributed 40 lakh forms and is receiving about 50,000 applications daily.

443 new dengue cases in 4 days

In an alarming rise in the number of dengue cases in the city, 443 new cases were reported since last Friday. The dengue season seems to be peaking in the capital with the number of cases rising to 1,355 from 912 on September 19, registering a 50 per cent rise in cases in last four days as per a report released by the MCD on Monday.
