Maoists call for a boycott of polls in Bengal
With Bengal elections approaching and the Union government apprehending unprecedented violence, the CPI(Maoist) on Monday gave a call to boycott assembly elections in the state. While the CPI(M) had been consistently accusing the Trinamul Supremo, Ms Mamata Banerjee of her links with the naxalites, the rebels also pointed a finger at her and observed that her rule “is not going to be any different from that of the Marxists.”
