CCS reiterates talks with all sections

A statement issued by the government after the Cabinet Committee on Security meeting on Monday said the Centre’s intention was to restart the dialogue process with different sections of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The CCS meeting had set off speculation that the government could consider a partial withdrawal of the AFSPA. The official statement, however, did not mention that law.

Woman, 65, drugged, robbed in city bus

A 65-year-old woman was drugged and robbed in a bus near the Commonwealth Games building in the heart of the city, police sources said on Monday.
The victim, Inderjeet Narang, a retired employee of Union health ministry, told the police that she had gone to State Bank of Patiala near Shastri Bhawan. “At around 3 pm, she boarded a bus from near the CWG office. She was probably drugged and robbed in the bus,” a police source said.

Dengue remains cause of concern
