Opp Bharat Bandh July 5
The NDA and Left parties on Tuesday announced a 12-hour Bharat Bandh and nationwide strike on July 5 to protest against the recent hike in the petroleum products by the UPA government, while demanding a rollback of the hike. The parties have stated that the bandh from 6 am to 6 pm would be peaceful and rail and road traffic would not be disturbed.
Though both the NDA and Left parties have called the bandh on the same day and against the same issue, they would not be sharing the platform.
The JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav on Tuesday stated that all the major Opposition parties have come together on the issue, which is the first instance after the “JP movement in the 1970s”.
“I have got confirmation from a host of leaders for the Bharat Bandh on July 5. I have spoken to CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat, BJP chief Nitin Gadkari, A.B. Bardhan of the CPI, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, AIDMK chief J. Jaylalitha, JD(S) chief H.D. Deve Gowda, LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan, INLD chief Om Prakash Choutala, Punjab chief minister Prakash Badal, Orissa chief minister Navin Patnaik, TDP chief N. Chandra Babu Naidu. All these leaders have consented to join the Bharat Bandh on July 5,” Mr Yadav told reporters.
However, the Left parties made a separate announcements in this regard. BJP chief Nitin Gadkari also gave a call for bharat bandh asking political outfits to join the bandh.
“In order to protest against this unjustified hike in petroleum prices and the total ineptitude of UPA government to address this problem, BJP president Nitin Gadkari has given a call for a Bharat Bandh on July 5,” BJP national spokesperson, Mr Tarun Vijay said.
The NDA’s call for a 12-hour “Bharat Bandh” came hours after the Left and non-BJP Opposition parties called a 12-hour nationwide strike on July 5.

Both Central and state governments of India day by day loosing its governance. Congress, which had name for the freedom of India had split in 1969 and Congress "I " was up to 2004, now it has merged with UPA is nothing but loss of its karishma. Janata Party spilt in to pieces, BJP rose to little height but now it also depend on NDA means loss of its karishma.
Why? Because all leaders are unable to rule and unable to sit in the Opposition. Unless and until Kalki's entry India will be in the hands of these people, one fine day he will appear to eradicate these people to bring peace and prosperity of India as well as universe.

I support Barat bandh. There has to be some steps taken in order to make the govt realise how drastic it is for the middle-class people to have even a rupees incremented for an item.

I hate bandh, because people didn't hike the price of petrol or any other commodity. Whoever hiked the prices must be punished and the Parliament should be dissolved. The MPs do not know how to rule a country and they always think of ruining country. Both RP/Opp parties have always wasted interests.

Mr Sahhasra, you are very right, both ruling and opposition party MP's playing with public.
Manmohan Singh does not know how to rule a nation, our Opposition party leaders like Advani, Sushma, Jaitley and many non-UPA parties have no knowledge of how to handle government when it fails to rule properly.
Our Presidents always support RP, moreover that post itself is vasted on which we spent crores of rupees the amount is hard earned salaries or any other occupation.

I support the movement. I would support it even more if my college would comply to it. Jokes apart, I believe that with people losing their jobs because of world economy, they do not need the stress of collecting loose change to fill up their cars with fuel. The government needs to understand that we commoners put up with a lot of inconvenience because they seem to think they're doing us a favour.

Narendra Modi is the only one who can run India and fix its ills. The ruling party and its media machine are nothing but anti-nationals.

Well, I really dont support "Bharat Bandh".
There has to be some economic option to this. I would say, its mere Opposition-Opposition play as of all times. No government is foolish, afterall its not one brains.
So merily is that all have decided, but who has to pay for the loses that the nation goes today. We are struggling for maintaing our economy, daily is that we check for how better Rupee has become on Dollar, how has sensex rose. Does it not affect all at once. Its rather pathetic and ridiculous. Its a shame to the outer world.
The parties could sit and come out on some solution. What is Bharat Bandh going to fetch....CHAOS..
I am against it ..

The government should wave-off the taxes on the fuel. The salaries are remaining the same as private co's do not give hike in salaries, how to cope with the daily expenses. The government should think of the middle class people. What has the government done till now for the normal middle class people.

Yes, I do support this Bharat bandh. Due to price hike we are facing lot of problems in routine life. One question I would like to ask the government that, they are increasing prices of
all essential commodities but they never think about ordinary people those who are working
in private companies where the salary hardly increase? This price hike will affect middle-class people. For eg. there schoolchildren fees
is increasing every year but parents salary will remain same. surriving in private company is getting unsecured. Government should think a lot about this.
