Of course, they called it the sound emitted from transverse pulling of the guitar string, but still no one has ever conducted such a research.
Medium & master
Yoga begins and ends with the guru. For a sadhak there’s nothing higher than the guru’s energy. Why? Because guru is the medium between God and you; one who filters, modifies gyan (knowledge) for us to assimilate, one who brings it to the level of our acceptance and tolerance. Without guru kripa (blessing) the sudden flow of gyan can be disastrous.

My last column considered how the elements form the basis of the physical manifested creation (Elements & the being, July 20). To recap, the five elements in our body are prithvi, ap, agni, vayu and akash — earth, water, fire, air and ether respectively.
Elements & the being
Elements or tatwas are a basis for the physical manifested creation; these elements are present in every aspect of creation in various permutations and combinations and in various ratios and proportions. A slight change in the ratio of one element and a man could look like a monkey. It is these elements that make one woman look pretty and another ugly the difference is just a fractional change of ratio in one of the elements.

On a full moon night, the moon’s magnetism is at its peak, and on Guru Purnima, which was on Tuesday, a guru’s glow is at its height. Just being in your guru’s presence on this day can lead to phenomenal experiences for your inner world and have amazing effects on your evolution.
