Court holds Swamy's complaint against Raja 'maintainable'
A Delhi court on Friday held as 'maintainable' a private complaint filed by Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy seeking prosecution of former Telecom Minister A Raja in the 2G spectrum case.
India looking forward to Pak foreign minister's visit
India is expecting Pakistan foreign minister S M Qureshi to be here in the next couple of months, before which the foreign secretaries of the two countries will meet to "clear the ground for a very productive meeting" between the two foreign ministers.
External affairs minister S M Krishna said, "The indication given to me by Mr Qureshi was that sometime in the first quarter of 2011, he would be visiting Delhi and we are looking forward to it."
Govt rejects CAG's findings
Government today rejected CAG estimates of losses of Rs 1.76 lakh on account of allocation of 2G spectrum to telecom operators saying "it had no basis and was utterly erroneous".
CBI questions Kalmadi
Commonwealth Games Organising Com-mittee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi was on Wedne-sday interrogated by the CBI for the first time in connection with various cases of alleged corruption in the preparations for the sporting event. T-panel report to be out today
Union home minister P. Chidambaram will meet representatives of political parties on Thursday to hand over a copy of the Justice Srikrishna Committee’s report on the demand to carve out a separate state of Telangana. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), BJP and Telugu Desam Party have said they will boycott the meeting. In view of the move to make public the report on Thursday, the Congress has asked its MPs from Telangana region not to raise the political temperature in Andhra Pradesh.

The Union home minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, on Wednesday said there is no tax worse than inflation.
While speaking at a function in the national capital, Mr Chidambaram said, “I believe that price stability is extremely important, especially in a poor country. There is no tax worse than inflation. All that you gain in the strings is lost in the roundabout”.
Baalu meets Sonia on developments
Amidst reports of Union minister for chemicals and fertilisers M.K. Alagiri having put in his papers, senior DMK leader T.R. Baalu on Wednesday called on Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi. According to sources, Mr Baalu met Mrs Gandhi to apprise her of the recent developments in the DMK as the two parties have reiterated that they will contest the upcoming Assembly polls together.
