An Alliance Air aircraft made a precautionary landing at the New Delhi IGI airport on Friday after airport staff at Pathankot had spotted some pieces of rubber on the airport runway soon after the plane had taken off for Delhi. Officials of Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India (domestic), said it was found at Delhi airport that the tyres of the aircraft were in perfect order. The aircraft was inspected after it landed.

Two unidentified armed assailants barged into a mobile shop in a south Delhi locality on Thursday evening and shot dead its 36-year-old owner.
Police officials said Harvinder Singh, the owner of the shop located near well number two in Katwaria Sarai was about to close his shop on Thursday when two unidentified assailants entered at around 11.55 pm and fired seven shots at him and escaped.

Another catastrophe was averted at Mumbai airport on Friday.
