Mobile shop owner shot dead

Two unidentified armed assailants barged into a mobile shop in a south Delhi locality on Thursday evening and shot dead its 36-year-old owner.
Police officials said Harvinder Singh, the owner of the shop located near well number two in Katwaria Sarai was about to close his shop on Thursday when two unidentified assailants entered at around 11.55 pm and fired seven shots at him and escaped.

Collision of 2 planes avoided at airport

Another catastrophe was averted at Mumbai airport on Friday. More than 500 persons aboard two planes had a narrow escape after a Kingfisher aircraft was cleared to land on a runway where a SpiceJet plane was stalled due to a technical snag. Luckily, the error was discovered in time by air traffic control (ATC), which instructed the landing Kingfisher aircraft to perform a go-around. The pilots of both aircraft followed ATC instructions.

The government on Friday made it mandatory for the companies listed on the stock exchanges to have at least 25 per cent shareholding with the public. This means 179 listed companies will have to issue more shares to the public. This includes the public and private sector giants such as ONGC, NMDC, Reliance Power, DLF and Wipro.
