CBI to raise states’ sanction issue in SC

Amid the ongoing tussle between the Centre and the CBI over complete functional autonomy to India’s premier investigating agency, the CBI is now all set to raise the issue before the Supreme Court about several instances of various state governments making it mandatory to take their sanctions for prosecuting even Central government’s group “B” and “C” grade employees posted at various Central departments offices in their states.

DoPT notifies CBI probe into Ranvir Sena chief’s murder

The department of personnel and training (DoPT) on Monday notified a CBI probe into the killing of Ranvir Sena supremo Brahmeshwar Singh, alias Mukhiya. Mukhiya, founder of the militia of big landholders and middle-class peasants in south Bihar plains, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Bhojpur district on June 1, 2012.
