The son of a senior sub-inspector with Delhi police’s special branch was caught red-handed using his father’s official motorcycle while committing a daring daylight robbery in Raja Garden on Sunday afternoon with the police suspecting his involvement in other such cases in West Delhi.
Liquor to cost more in city
The Delhi government on Monday decided to implement barcoding on liquor bottles. The government also approved hike in the prices of country liquor by 15 per cent. Decision to implement barcoding will curb smuggling and ensure regulation of liquor sale.
Cops solve Sarita Vihar murder case
A 21-year-old boxing coach was arrested for allegedly killing his “father” who disowned his mother and used to publicly humiliate him, the police said on Monday.
Ravi, 21, was apprehended with his friend Rahul, 19, on Sunday from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly murdering Bhim Singh Nagar three days ago in Sarita Vihar. Ravi is a boxing coach at Indira Gandhi Stadium.
Woman dies, 10 hurt in mishaps
Fog wreaked havoc on city roads as a woman was killed and 10 others were injured in accidents reported in the last 24 hours.
A 55-year-old woman was killed and four others were injured when a speeding truck hit a car and a tempo in north Delhi’s Burari area on Sunday evening apparently after the driver was blinded by fog.
Cong not against creation of new states
In what could be music to the ears of those fighting for a separate state of Telangana, the Congress on Monday declared that it was not opposed to the creation of smaller states, but added that a decision on Telangana would be taken after the submission of the Srikrishna Committee report.
Media asked to be sensitive on T-row

Advani hopeful of SC’s decisive role
