Two arrested for killing youth

The Delhi police on Monday arrested a 29-year-old graduate and his friend for allegedly killing a man after the latter got engaged with the girl whom he loved.
Krishan Kumar and his friend Anil, 24, whose father is a peon in Delhi Vidhan Sabha, were apprehended for allegedly murdering Bhupender Singh, 21, in Gulabi Bagh on May 15, said the police.

Cabinet nod to road tax hike

Now if you want to buy a Land Cruiser, a Honda CRV or any other luxury vehicle, be prepared to pay a whopping 10 per cent of its cost in road tax. The Delhi Cabinet on Monday gave its nod to hike in road tax for various categories of vehicles. The new road tax structure, which will come into force after a notification is issued, will range from 2 to 10 per cent. The decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting presided over by chief minister Sheila Dikshit.

Justice Misra is Delhi HC Chief Justice

Former 56-year-old Justice Dipak Misra on Monday took over as the new Chief Justice of the Delhi high court, three months after former Chief Justice Ajit Prakash Shah retired on February 13. Justice Madan B. Lokur was working as the acting Chief Justice since then.
