The Centre on Wednesday submitted to the Supreme Court the names of 26 Indians with “black accounts” in Germany’s Liechtenstein Bank in a “sealed cover”, with a rider that these cannot be made public, but the court disapproved of such a stand and repeatedly asked the government why it was so “sensitive” about disclosure of the names.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday reshuffled his council of ministers after 20 months. Cool roofs to save energy: Govt
The Delhi government will initiate a pilot project for cool-roofing under which the roof tops will be painted in light colour to save energy. Chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday said that the cool-roofing project would be carried out on some of the big buildings in the city.

Govt: Schools to be mishap-proof
To avoid repeat of a mishap like stampede in a Khajoori Khas school in 2009 which left five girls dead and injured more than 34 others, the city government on Wednesday told the Delhi high court that it has decided to strengthen its infrastructure in its schools within one month.
Woman found dead, probe on
A 26-year-old woman was found hanging at her central Delhi residence on Wednesday with the police suspecting the involvement of her in-laws in the incident.
The in-laws of the deceased, identified as Harpreet Kaur, have told the police that she committed suicide while her family has alleged that she took the extreme step because of dowry harassment.
‘500 missing kids still not traceable’
Appearing before a division bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA) member secretary, Asha Menon, on Wednesday told the Delhi high court that more than 500 children who have been missing for last one year have not been traced by the city police as yet. Ms Menon said that the list of missing children prepared by it did not match with the number prepared by the police.
Schools dither, govt warns strong action
After virtually bringing the Delhi government down on its knees on the issue of nursery admissions by getting a free hand on deciding the criteria, various organisations of the private schools have now decided to take on the government on the issue of providing free education to the students from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). The private school organisations have threatened that they would shut down the schools rather than bear the entire burden of EWS students.
