Security at 51 airports to be hiked
The government has decided to enhance security at the 51 major airports in the country to thwart any possible terror attack. The Union home ministry on Wednesday directed the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) to ensure installation of CCTV cameras in vital locations at all airports, deployment of adequate security staff and raising of perimeter wall. The home ministry has also directed the BCAS to install enough watch towers at all 51 major airports.
City continues to reel under powercuts
Even as the mercury in the city came down by nearly four degrees from Tuesday, the city residents continued to face powercuts. The discoms had to resort to load shedding largely on account of overdrawal from states and also due to the closure of the 220 KV unit of Badarpur Power Thermal Station for a Delhi Metro project.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday told a Delhi court that senior Congress leader Sajjan Kumar was allegedly involved in the murder of people during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots by giving provocative speeches.
