Tomato rates up, onions still ‘hot’

17-28% toll tax hike from May ’11
The standing committee of the MCD on Wednesday approved a 17 to 28 per cent hike in toll tax for commercial vehicles. The rates will apply from mid-May in 2011.

20-year-old stabbed in robbery bid
A 20-year-old youth Iqbal, who worked at a store in Maujpur, was stabbed to death in Jafarabad, southwest Delhi, on Tuesday evening.
Iqbalwas going to the shop when assailants intercepted him and asked him to hand over cash. “When he resisted, one assailant stabbed him in the abdomen,” a senior police official said. He was declared brought dead at G.T.B. Hospital.
Koli gets death in fourth case
Surinder Koli, the domestic help of businessman Moninder Singh Pander, was on Wednesday sentenced to death by Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) judge A. K. Singh for a 12-year-old girl’s murder.
