Water supply to be hit in East, S. Delhi

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has informed that water supply in several areas of south and east Delhi will be affected on Sunday due to planned shutdown in its network.
The DJB has stated that due to shifting of Kirlokari and Triplicate main near Hanuman Setu, Yamuna Bazar, water supply will be available at low pressure. Hence, several areas in the south and east Delhi would face water supply problems on Sunday.

1 killed, many hurt in mishaps

A labourer was killed and several others injured in two separate road incidents reported from the city in the last 24 hours.
In the first incident reported in the Kalkaji area of southeast Delhi, a labourer was killed while three others suffered injuries after they were hit by a Tata 709 dumper. The police officials said the accident occurred at around 3 am near Nehru Place flyover.

DGCA: IGI noise to be reduced

After hearing a batch of petitions filed by local residents, patients and the hospitals authorities in south Delhi, seeking a direction to the Union government to take effective steps to reduce noise pollution, the high court on Thursday directed the DGCA to bring noise levels in and around Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport as per the international standards.

Pulses, milk push inflation to 16.5%

Driven by higher prices of pulses, milk and fruits, food inflation rose to 16.55 per cent for the week ended May 22.
Inflation increased by 0.32 percentage point from 16.23 per cent in the previous week, food inflation data released here today showed.
Potatoes and onions became cheaper by 34.09 per cent and 11.55 per cent respectively.

BWA spectrum bid nears Rs 9,000cr
