L-G directs police to be more vigilant

Delhi lieutenant governor Tejendra Khanna on Tuesday directed the police to be more vigilant on the safety of woman, including BPO staffers. It has been decided that woman employees should not travel alone with cab drivers at night and a security guard must invariably accompany them.

Cops ‘identify’ vehicle used

The four suspects picked up by Delhi police in connection with the rape of a girl from the northeast last week have led the investigators to a vehicle “similar to one used in the crime” with the police releasing the sketch of third suspect on Tuesday.

Becker said in a televised interview, “I turned 43 this week, and winning Wimbledon was 25 years ago, and I do feel very much like I’m 43 right now,” as he revealed that he had opted for a facelift and a hair colouring treatment in an attempt to bring back his youth. Jairam: SUVs, no diesel subsidy

Environment minister Jairam Ramesh took forward his attack on diesel-guzzling sports utility vehicles (SUVs) and suggested that users of such cars be made to pay full market price for the fuel instead of the subsidised rate.

Police detains 4 in gangrape

The Delhi police has detained four suspects in connection with the gangrape of a girl from the northeast in Dhaula Kuan which took place last Wednesday.

Commuters on the Jehangirpuri-Gurgaon line of the Delhi Metro were stranded due to signalling trouble in the morning. This is the third such incident in the past one week on the same line.

E. Delhi building shows tilt, is evacuated, sealed

A four-storey building developed a “tilt” and also damaged adjacent building following which it was evacuated and sealed. The incident was reported from Shakarpur in east Delhi on Monday. The building has been “put under seven-day observation” as initial inspection did not reveal imminent danger of collapsing. However, the incident has once again raised the hackles of the residents living in areas near to the Lalita Park building collapse site.

ED may ask nations for 2G related details

The Enforcement Directorate may send a “Letter of Request” to authorities concerned in certain countries in order to gather details about the alleged investments made by those who reportedly benefited from the 2G spectrum scam.
