Delhi University vice-chancellor Prof. Deepak Pental has clarified that the implementation of semester system is not subjudice and that it remains in force as announced at all times. He also warned the teaching community to implement the semester system or else action will be taken against the erring ones.

The visiting British Prime Minister David Cameron on Thursday asked India to further open up sectors like financial services and retail.

Help kills woman for opposing his adoption
In a bizarre incident, a 42-year-old woman was allegedly strangulated by her domestic help, who had been working in her household for over 15 years, early on Thursday. The incident was reported from Sunlight Colony in southeast Delhi.

Parliament approves Prez Rule for J’khand

Poor infrastructure for teacher training
A renewed attempt by the Union human resource ministry for streamlining teachers training facilities in the country has revealed that a large number of teacher training institutes are running without proper infrastructure or instruction facilities. As a result of its inspection drive across the country the National Council for Teacher Education has withdrawn the recognition of 585 institutes over a period of about 18 months.
