Yet another mature love story

The idiot box is undergoing a rather intellectual transformation of late. Mature love stories are the flavour of the season, and another one is along on its way.

Small screen comfort

It’s been often said that television gives actresses life beyond films.

Poonam refuses ‘small’ offers

After Khatron Ke Khiladi 4, Poonam Pandey is finally being known for more than the rash comments she made about stripping if India won the cricket World Cup. Plenty of other reality shows have steeped forward with offers, but Poonam has other plans. “I have rejected all offers for reality shows, I’m looking for only offers that require me to act,” says Poonam.

Vindu’s divine connection

Looks like Vindu Dara Singh has finally become typecast in the character of Hanuman. Right now, he is shooting for two films both of which will see him in the avatar of Hanuman.

The actress, who had to leave the solo act half-way through to enter the reality house BB4, has begun rehearsing again. “I was already busy with Aaine Ke Sau Tukde, when I got an offer for BB4. And I couldn’t resist it. But I am happy to back in the show,” she says.

Six Hours with Terrorists, directed by Karan Kashyap, has garnered attention for its cinematography. So far, there have just been two films; Russian Arc (one hour and 38 minutes) and British film PVC (two hours and 24 minutes) and Indian TV show CID that made a record of one hour 41 minutes of any uncut scenes. Six Hours with Terrorists has broken all the previous records and made a new record in history of India as well as of world cinema.

Dadisa turns TV show host

Surekha Sikri is an unforgettable face when it comes to the small screen. Her role of dadisa in the TRP magnet Balika Vadhu has been widely appreciated. Apart from playing strong characters on the small screen, Sikri has also been seen in critically acclaimed films like Zubeidaa, Raincoat and Sarfarosh. She’ll now have her first stint as a reality show host in Maa Exchange, partly inspired by the English TV show Wife Swap.
