Arguments heard on verdict consequences

Detailed arguments were heard in the Supreme Court on Tuesday on what would be the consequences of the title suit verdict in the light of the 1994 Supreme Court Constitution Bench’s guidelines for deciding the case by the high court and the parliamentary mandate for acquiring the disputed land with 68 acres of additional land around the demolished structure.

60-year Ayodhya wait ends tomorrow

The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed two petitions to defer the Ayodhya title suit ruling and cleared the decks for the Lucknow bench of the Allhahabd high court to pronounce judgment in the 60-year-old case. Soon after this, it was announced that the three-member high court bench would deliver its verdict at 3.30 pm on Thursday, September 30.

4 road cave-ins in a single day

The city roads are refusing to hold up after heavy monsoon rains as four more cave-ins were reported over the last 24 hours. A 15-foot long crater was formed when the road connecting ISBT to Shahdara caved in at Seelampur on Tuesday at around 2 pm. “A part of the road collapsed in adjoining nullah, which led to a 15-foot long crater,” a senior police official said.

CM: Lock rooms to prevent thefts

Jamia student, 20, beaten to death

A 20-year-old student of Jamia Millia Islamia was bludgeoned to death by four students on Tuesday afternoon. Police officials said the incident took place at around 3 pm near Ansari Health Club on the university campus.
