Walia for hike in Haj quota
Delhi revenue minister A.K. Walia on Wednesday said that he would take up the issue of hike in Haj quota for the city with the Central government.
Dr Walia on Wednesday undertook a draw of lots to select 719 aspirants for Haj pilgrimage out of 6,889 applicants. Delhi power minister Haroon Yusuf was also present on the occasion.

Girl found hanging in S. Delhi
A 13-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her Mahipalpur residence in south Delhi on Wednesday afternoon.
The police said the incident took place at L-block in Mahipalpur Extension where the victim lived with her brother, Ajay Pandey and sister-in-law Shashi. Ajay works in a leading software company as technical support engineer.

The police said the accused, identified as Akbar Khan, 28, Aftab Khan, 32, and Neeraj Gupta, 33, are part of a gang leg by Mohd Khalil, also known as “Godfather”.

3 arrested for drug trade, ganja seized
The crime branch has arrested three persons in the city for allegedly running an inter-state drug trafficking racket.
The police said the gang leader, Sagar, 19, used to fly to Kolkata to strike deal for ganja. “Sagar was arrested with his associates Sanjay, 26, and Tejvir Singh, 22, from Outer Ring Road. We recovered 137 kg of ganja worth `7 lakhs from their possession,” DCP (crime) Ashok Chand said.
