Make women feel secure, says CM

In the wake of two gangrapes taking place in less than a month in the city, chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday expre-ssed unhappiness with the law and order situation. “We discussed the entire situation. We finalised several measures to make women feel secure. What government can do, we will do. We are concerned over the incidents, so is the police. We have to end this atmosphere of panic,” Ms Dikshit said.

Engineer shot at in E. Delhi

A 42-year-old engineer was shot at in Mayur Vihar on Monday.
The victim, Sunil Kumar, who works with NBCC as a civil engineer, was leaving for his office on Monday when an assailant fired four shots at him for allegedly resisting robbery attempt. The incident took place outside SSS apartments in Mayur Vihar, Phase III, at 10 am, the police said.
