CAG says `70cr spent on coaches too much
The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has begun probing the expenditure of `70 crores reportedly incurred by the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC) to pay the salaries of personal trainers and their Indian assistants who were hired to work with participating athletes between September 26 and October 13 at the practice venues.
Lok Adalat Oct. 24 to clear cases
To clear the backlog of pending cases that have piled up in the courts, the Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in co-ordination with the Delhi high court will hold a Lok Adalat in its premises and in all six district court complexes on October 24 to render speedy justice to litigants.

Police team in Hardwar to rescue victim
A Delhi police team rushed to Hardwar early Monday to retrieve child, a day after a 57-year-old sadhvi and her six aides were arrested for running a child trafficking racket. The police said seven persons, including a sadhvi identified as Binaji Maharaj, a childless couple identified as Afroz and Mona in addition to Mohammad Zuber, Saira Khusboo and Nanhi, the sadhvi’s partners in crime, were arrested in Neb Sarai on Sunday.

DDA takes over CWG Village flats

Bluelines kept off, govt to decide Oct. 25
The Blueline buses will stay off city roads for another week, with the Delhi government exploring ways to phase them out. In a move to decongest city roads, the city government had ordered the Blueline buses to stay off roads ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
Cabinet mulls sports academy
In a move intended at making use of the stadia and the sports facilities put in place for the Commonwealth Games and to popularise sports culture in the capital, the Delhi Cabinet on Monday discussed a proposal to set up a sports academy in the city.
