No power tariff hike, says Sheila

Chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday said that there will be no hike in electricity rates for the ongoing financial year. The statement has come after disagreements on the issue in between the Delhi government and regulator DERC over fixing new power tariff.

Rain brings waterlogging to city

Custody of Pacheco is extended

The additional sessions court in Margao on Monday extended former Goa tourism minister Mickky Pacheco’s judicial custody by another day to Tuesday.
Mr Pacheco had surrendered before the court on Saturday after remaining underground for almost a month. After his bail plea was rejected, he had complained of chest pains and was admitted to the Hospicio Hospital in Margao on Saturday itself.
